Training Initive 2009

One of the primary objectives of the I.H.R.N is to support  hospital broadcasters. We realise the importance of training and this we plan to facilitate required training at all member stations. To date we have held four major training events. The First was a  train the trainer weekend course in Killkenny and the second presenter training in South Tipperary General Hospital Radio entitiled "what does hospital Radio mean to you". You can find out more about these two events in the events menu..

In 2009 we have organised two focused training workshop at member stations CUH FM and South Tippereary General Hospital Radio.  These workshops were for presenters and the aim was to refresh skills in the basics of radio presentation and move to the next level with an introduction on how to ‘Unconsciously Know’ what great presentation involves. These workshops were a huge success, the network recieved very positive feedback from the volunteers that attended and the instructors.

St. Ita's in Portrane hope to hold their workshop in July with the rest of our member stations planning their workshop for September/October.

June 2009 Network News

The Network hald a very successful meeting in Clonmel on Saturday the 6th of June 2009. First on the agenda was a report on the CUH FM and Clonmel General Hospital Radio Workshops. The feedback was very positive with station management noticing presenters utilising workshop content on air. Planning is in progress to hold workshops at the rest of our member stations over the next few months

In March of 2009 the IHRN sent 2 representatives to the U.K. to observer their Hospital Broadcasting Orgaisations annual awards ceremony and spring conference. On their return our delegates furnished a detailed written report of their trip containing recomendations for our planned awards ceremony and futer events.  This report was the basis for the formulation of the catagories and submission criteria for our first annual awards ceremony to be held near the end of this year.  Nomination forms and further details about our awards ceremony are availabe on this site. We will keep this information regularly updated over the coming months.

Our training workshops are proving to be very succesful. If you have any suggestions or ideas regarding future training please let us know as we are now planning our 2010 training program.
